你們好!!!

I AM ON A ROLL!

I'm posting second day in a ROW!
Yesterday's post was quite vague, wasn't it?
Let me go into detail today... maybe. I talk a lot so it might take me forevs.

So let's see - RECAP!
My last "night" in Calgary was amazing - I never knew I had so many friends who would come out to my "last minute bbt gathering" at a Taiwanese BBT place. How fitting, right? >0<
It made me realize how blessed I was in Calgary... I miss my friends so very much. I miss being able to mass text my address book on my BlackBerry for random hangouts... I miss randomly calling, texting, BBMing... I was truly blessed with all my friends and I am feeling it here in Taiwan fo sho.
I have a huge family in Taiwan... but family just isn't the same as friends, you know?
Friends CHOOSE to be friends with each other and my cousins are just stuck being related to me. hahaaa~!
Thank you for being my friend. <3

I attend Saturday night service at the church my family here goes to and I attend my cousin Kyle's small group. It's quite the change - most of my lovely Calgarian friends are older and here, they are so young. The worship service is intense ... it's SO loud, includes flashing lights and people jumping. The church is  full of excitement and is very welcoming but I feel that I don't quite fit in... or I don't really want to. Hmmm. EMO! But it's the truth.

I was not emotionally ready to leave Calgary, I don't think.
I didn't realize that after Taiwan, I wouldn't be able to return to my comfortable life of Calgary - I'll be returning to Calgary to pack my things to leave for my new adventure in Vancouver.

I think Taiwan is preparing me for Vancouver - different city, people, food, weather, church, surroundings..... overall, different LIFE.
I am really excited for Vancouver but at the same time, it's going to be tough leaving Calgary.
I tried not to be all sentimental and think too much but I am extremely SENSITIVE (pffft - NOOB, I KNOW!) and I have a tonnnnn of feelings.

- man this feels like the "Xanga" days all over again.

ANYWAY.
Enough feelings.
I've been doing my devotions through Our Daily Bread and one of my goals this year is to read the bible in its entirety. So far, so good. My SG leader is very accountable so it keeps me on my toes!

I am behind on one of my assignments. Is that a surprise? Nahhhhhhh.
I'll finish it by tomorrow, no big deal.

I have traveled from one end of Taiwan to the other.
I've been able to see so much of my little island.. learned so much and continuing to learn.
There are statues of my great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-etc.... grandpa all over Taiwan. SWEET, right?!
And you guys always wondered why I was so proud of Taiwan.... DUURRRR! My ancestors are part of the history of Taiwan!!!!

My Mandarin is improving quickly ...

  • I have eaten A LOT - don't worry. I weigh myself all the time. I have another 2 months of this eating and eating and eating... lifestyle >0<
  • I SAW MONKEYS YESTERDAY!!!! - they live in the mountains in Kaohsiung and just roam the streets - how our rabbits and deers roam ours
  • I see a lot of "fresh" food - aka the animals are alive one minute and on your plate cooked the next
  • I have gone bowling more than 5x since I've been here.. my cousins love it. My highest score = 75. My lowest = 32. @_@
  • My parents are here.
